I've seen some (Mullen) that are bent and curious why that would make a difference?

My best guess is that: (1) there was a good place that the bell cranks and lever fit that allowed for adjustments; (2) it was helpful to put a bend in the knee lever to allow proper reach for the player's comfort.

I guess I wasn't clear. I meant the wide paddle extensions that make the lever easier to engage.

Bob-my Royal Precision U-12's LKR paddle is bent to the right (as viewed from behind). It allows my left knee to contact the width of the paddle rather than just the edge and makes engaging LKR easier. RKR has a paddle that isn't bent but my right knee hits the width anyway, so that's all good. Winking
