Of all the terrific contemporary Texas steel guitarists – Dicky Overbey, Jim Loessberg, Ricky Davis, Lloyd Maines, Rick Price, the list goes on and on – there is one artist that consistently reaches out and grabs me by the ears every time: the one and only Tommy Detamore.

Does Tommy ever play the Dallas steel show? If so, somebody let me know and I’ll be there on the next thing smokin’.

Here's the audio of Tommy's "Night Life" solo From the “Trail To Monterey” album (2002) by Pauline Reese.

“Well now play a little blooz for her, boys.”
