I've watched the Youtubes on this song by Gary Stewart and almost have the intro figured out, but if someone has it tabbed it sure would help, Thanks !

Jon,
I just had a listen.
Heres a simple 2 note version of what I hear on the record.

(Edited to reflect the wisdom of Joe Wright's post below)

Sounds to me like the first notes are at fret 6 with the E lower. Its the same as fret 4 with the A ped and F lever, but it slides better..joe

Hmm,, yeah,, and doesn't this end in an 'F' chord, ?? the same progression works on fret 1, a D, then walking it up to fret 17,

Thanks for the correction Joe. Very Happy 1 knee and 2 frets beats a pedal/knee moving 4 frets! Definitely easier to play and sounds better. Im learning too.

Joe's got the ear. And the eye. On one of the Youtubes you can actually see the bar placement, and knowing the key of the performance (in this case E or F) your can deduce the pedal configuaration. At least I did and it sounds right.

Joe sure does have the ear and eye, and hands like lightning too! Shocked
Even though its an old song, I never heard or saw it played before. Embarassed
I edited the tab in my earlier post, so newbies like me can play it right. Laughing

Bingo. This is one of my favorite country songs off one of the greatest country albums of all time. Wade Hayes did a version of it about eight years ago that was left off his album (after he announced that it would be included). He used to play a great redition in his live shows. But the Tele doesn't quite get that intro sound no matter how you pick it.

Was Pete Drake the steel player on the original recording?
