I'm home recovering from back surgery. I've seen every Steel Guitar video on youtube. So I started looking at Dobro videos and came across this. Is there no end to Randy's talent. The next thing you know he will have a vocal CD. "Randy Sangs Vince Gill" This is real good stuff and I would like to hear more. He has some unknown guitar player backing him up.

Howard, thanks for sharing. I would love to see more. Do you know if the dobro was tuned to G or C6th? Not your typical bluegrass dobro but it was cool none the less. But, of course it was it was Randy Beavers. What a great talent. I have been a fan of Randy's since he was about 15 years old and I wasn't much older than that. |

Hmmmm.....I thought that I had more video of Randy playing.....possibly I do but it's not posted on youtube.....
Here's what I recall from those sessions if I'm correct......the tuning is G.......Randy was interested in playing the dobro, 6 string, and received some tutelage from Mike who suggested that he learn and play in the G tuning..... |

I'm afraid there is no end to Randy's talents. He's also an accomplished classical guitarist.
And he's a bass fisherman, Percy Priest being his home lake. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Well, I've heard that he's a pretty good golfer too. We're gonna see about that here one of these days. |

David, I heard Randy hooks the ball really bad.
I kinda expect Mr. Beavers could play shoe strings if he could stretch-em tight enough to get em in tune! _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.

Herb, you know it doesn't take talent to bass fish, I'm proof of that. My home lake is Lake Guntersville. |

You must be doing pretty good when you have Mike's undivided attention. He doesn't take his eyes off of off Randy's hands. _________________ Ray Harrison
