Next week Norma Jean and I will be in Sacramento, CA.
Are there any steel players in that area? If so let me know. Thanks. Al

Sad to say: The Sacramento area has a number of good steel players, but almost none of us are working regularly. All the working country acts, that I know of, have no steel player, or only use steel occasionally.

Having said that, I plan to attend a jam session on Wednesday evening, May 4th, at Louie's Lounge in Rancho Cordova, just off Hwy 50 at Mather Field Road exit. The host band plays some country and country swing while I'm on stage, but the rest of the time the music is mainly blues. It's a jam session so I'm sure you know the implications. I usually play the first set starting at 8 pm, and some more at various times until closing.

I need to make a correction: The Dave Russell Band include forum member, Mike Robertson (I think that's his name). He plays PSG along with an assortment of other instruments. I've never met or heard him play and I simply forgot about him. However, the Dave Russell Band is not showing any bookings for next week on their website. Hope no one is offended by the omission. It was not intentional.

There are a few bands that I know of.
the "Dry County Drinkers" have one,we opened for them last night.
I believe the "Fried Brothers" have one,but they are on the road often. There is also "The Fortunate Few" and "the Miller Hilites". I also apologize for any omissions as well.
