Shobud pedal pot wiring

I put a new 500K pot in my Shobud pedal But I think I my have the wiring wrong. It has very little volume. The wires are black and gray off of the guitar jack and white off of the amp. The pot picture wiring is left to right Gray, White, Black.Any help would be great. Thanks
