I guess wonders will never cease when it comes to the incomparable Stooges, of Detroit. Last night the band took it right back to where it all ended for them in early '74, the very aged and still beautiful Michigan Palace/Theater, to pay major tribute to their original music force on stun guitar, Ron Asheton http://www.iggyandthestoogesmusic.com/us/news/exclusive-photos-and-more-iggy-and-stooges-concert-tribute-ron-asheton?cid=nl:113064048&utm_medium=legacy-email&utm_source=iggypop&utm_campaign=legacy-email-iggypop-20110421
This forum's own James Williamson lead the guitar attack, as he did that fateful last night long ago, but instead of braving bottles, cameras, and anything else the crowd could throw to the raw strains of Louie Louie, James and Iggy closed this wild electric night with an acoustic send off to Ron on a Weisenborn style steel http://www.iggyandthestoogesmusic.com/sites/iggypop6/files/2011_04_19-DDominic-IMG_740.jpg Yet another interesting point in a career rife with suprises. Great touch, James, I wish I'd heard it, there! |
