Fred, Terry put on a really great show yesterday. Many great players were on the show. Here are a few that I will mention:
Buck Grantham was in tip top form and got a standing ovation. Jerry Newberry, Austin, with Jerry Roller on Dobro were wonderful, the audience loved them. They also got a standing ovation. I could not believe how good Austin is, he will soon be one of our greatest pickers! Ralph Mooney, with two divoted "Mooney Singers" brought back all the Mooney material from the Buck Owens, Waylon Jennings, and Wynn Stewart records. I always love to hear Larry from Ottumwa, Iowa sing with Mooney. Larry is the one that told me about all the tuning fluid that was drunk before the Waylon Jennings shows. People told me Jerry Roller's steel playing was great. I missed Jerry's show because he was first, and the wife, daughter and I arrived a little late.
Dell Mullen performed a great show as usual. Dell is one of my favorite players.
Dell had many guitars on the show and they sounded wonderful. Terry had assembled an outstanding group of back up players. Terry is lucky to be playing with such a great singer as Paul Harris. Paul Harris is as good, or better, than any young singer you hear out of Nashville. GFI and BMI guitars were there. Scotty and Mary were there. Dean Billingsly and Brad Serano did a great job of hooking up and helping players with their sound. It was a great day for lovers of steel guitar. Thanks Terry! |

Fred, it was a truly great show. Carlene and I had a ball. It is held in the Baldknobbers Theater with incredible sound. Terry Bethel is a great guy and treated us wonderfully. The attendance was super and a very appreciative crowd. A cream of the crop backup band which was a pleasure to play with. One of the most enjoyable shows I have ever played. This show should grow into one of the largest and best in the country. Oh! Joe Wright was at his absolute best both in his playing and his comedy. I would love to see Joe get on one of the late night TV shows such as Letterman so the country could see him. I would like to thank those who came to the show from my area. Several who regularly attend the Little O' Opry where I play were there to support my efforts and I really appreciated it. If you can imagine playing on a large theater stage with a million dollars worth of lights on you to a great crowd sitting in luxurious theater seats being backed up by a hand picked Branson band with an incredible sound system operated by guys who know how to make you sound your best and hosted by a Steel Guitar Icon then you can begin to get the picture.

Fred, The show was very good. The band was wonderfull. Jerry and Austin had a good time and the crowd was very nice to us. They have already asked us to come back next year. One of the highlights was when Austin took off on Crazy Arm's and Ralph Mooney came out on stage with hat in hands to watch him for a bit. That was very nice of him. Lots of people had good thinks to say to Jerry and Austin and we thank you for all the kind words. Donna |

I have to agree the show was awesome! It was my first time to hear the drummer and the fiddle player. I loved watching their expressions. I hope someone got a picture of Mitzi when she was trying to get Austin to smile. She got so tickled she didn't get the picture I don't think. I don't think Austin even got rattled when Ralph Mooney came in while he was playing Crazy Arms. I have to agree with Jerry Roller that Joe was at his best. I've seen him several times but I think he outdid himself. Buck Grantham was grest as usual. You've got to have him to have a steel show! All the players were great. |

Fred....all I can say is that you should of been there Terry and all the guys at the OZARKSGA put on a class act show!
When Jerry Roller opened the show and his wife Carlene sang I knew then and there that the rest of the show would be great. All I have to say is that every musician and the backup band and everyone involved did a fantastic job! This was my third time to attend and I personally think the show has got bigger & better and I have greatly enjoyed everyone of them and already looking forward to next year.Fred you would of froze though !!!! We were'nt expecting cool weather, but a rain came though and temp. dropped down in the 60's and you might of gone in shock being from Arizona haha....Branson is really a great place and alot to do and great place for a show.Fred maybe you can make it next year. |

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came to the Branson Jam, and especially to all the PLAYERS, they were all just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pat and I just got back to town and thought I would let everyone know, she is doing well after her surgery. It was and is a very painful surgery and it is going to take a while for her to recover. So if you have Pat on your prayer list, please say some more for her, she is still a long way from being 100 percent.
Thanks everyone,
Terry Bethel Sec/Treas
