Hi,

A friend ran across a Regal Dobro-style resonator with the headstock label reading "Regal Resonator Guitar Co Nashville TN."

The headstock label looks old, but the headstock shape is a new one on me.

My first thought was that it was linked to OMI, and maybe OMI owned the Regal name as well. Then when Gibson moved production to Nashville, they might have made some Regals as well.

Can anyone provide any info?

Thanks,
John

Gibson didn't purchase OMI until 1993, and that guitar is certainly older than that. None of the companies that made guitars under the Dobro brand were located in Nashville, and Regal guitars were made in Chicago!?

Is there a serial number?

"RB1 58" on the top of the headstock, "S" (second?) on the back of the headstock.
