In the early 1960's, when my dad was taping tunes off the radio, he scarfed a tune that had the lyrics:

"There's always one who loves a lot,
and one who loves just a little."

"But it's worth all the pain to love you a lot,
each time you love me just a little."

I haven't heard this tune anywhere in the last 20 to 30 years.

Can anyone offer any info about the artist, tune name, or anything that would help me in my quest to obtain a copy of this tune?

Thanks in advance.

There is a good chance that this is a Roy Drusky (spelling?) song. We did that song in a band I used to be in some years back and our singer was a total Roy Drusky fan. No guarantee but a REAL good chance.

Edit: Ha! I'm good, the old memory still works! I just Googled the lyric - it is indeed a RD number. Go ME! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Roy Drucky There's Always One (who Loves A Lot)

There's always one who loves a lot and one who loves just a little
There's hurt for one who loves a lot from the one who loves just a little
There's always one more demanding there's always one more understanding
I guess I'm the one who loves you a lot while you love me just a little

[ harmonica ]

But it's worth all the pain of loving a lot each time you love me just a little
There's always one who loves a lot and one who loves just a little

A further google search (now that I'm at a reasonably fast internet connection) indicates that it was released as a single in 1962. It doesn't show up on any album compilation so far that I have found.

Just gonna have to keep searchin'.

Thanks all for the info.

If anyone's got the record, let me know....

Here's a good version on YouTube (Porter and Skeeter). You may have to slide the track-bar on the video back to start it at the beginning of song (I had to).
