I have a 4 year old Rittenberry for sale. Standard Emmons set up (3 pedals, 5 knees, tuneable splits etc) with the additional pull of the 1st string 1 step up on RKL. Stock George L's pickup changed over to a Bill Lawrence 710. The guitar has been out of the house only once, and to a church, and has never been kept or played in a smoke filled room. Pedal action is fast and smooth, and it has a great tone. Included with the guitar and case, is a Steel Guitar Nashville cover, and about 10 packs of strings (more than 10 packs, but I didnt open them up to see if any strings were 'borrowed' out of any of them).
Asking price of $2000, shipping is included at that price. I will only sell in the continental USA. Paypal or money order only!

Thank you. Pictures looked good on one monitor but when posted they didn't look as good and I didn't know how or even if I could get back in and change them |

A great steel for sure, and the price is steel as well.
The color is nice also. Red does sound and play better.
If I didn't already have 2 Ritt's, I'd buy it quick.

By looking at the underside, I cannot see that it is a standard Emmons setup as far as the knees are involved .....could you detail each of the knee levers? Thanks.

I can tell by looking at Bill's picture that it has
all pedals and knee levers set up exactly as on my
2 Rittenberry's and it's definately all Emmons setup.

Ben, that is the exact same setup, but the only thing
I'm not sure of is, if the RKL raises both strings 1 & 2.
Gary usually uses this setup, except on custom builds.

Thanks Carl. It appears that it does NOT have the #2 string 1/2 step raise on RKL. One other question, does this vintage Rittenberry have the all string split-tuning integrated into the design? There is no mention of it.
Thanks.

Ben, the RKL DOES raise both 1 and 2. There is a pull rod
on both sides of the bellcrank. I would think that all the
normal split-tuning should be there. Surprised Gino hasn't
replyed yet. I'm sure he can give you more info than I can.

RKL does indeed raise both 1 and 2. So it does follow the tuning mentioned. I forget what the stock setup was, but when I bought it new from Bobbe Seymour, I had him add the additional pull. It does have the splits etc, which are tunable at the end block of the changer. Holes are drilled and tapped for splits on strings that do not already have them, just add a socket head cap screw (6-36 if I recall). There are compensators installed, but I have found, just as Gary Rittenberry told me, as the guitar has aged, they can be backed off a bit. |
