Does anybody know specifically which phaser David Lindley used on Jackson Browne's Running On Empty album?
You can hear it on other lap steel players' songs around that time, so it must have been very popular.
Thanks. |

Thanks so much Brad.
Yes, I know he used the CE-1 into the Overdrive Special. But there just has to be a very slow phaser in the loop, also......the oscillation is too prominent. You can really hear it on You Love the Thunder where his lead is way out front, not buried in the mix.
I have been cheap about spending the $16 for the Ben Harper interview since it may not help me either. You can see the ODS here, but they don't show the pedal board:

If no one knows the answer, guess I'll have to get it and hope its in there. |

In the interview, Lindley says that the phaser is an MXR, no model #.
I`d guess it`s a Phase 90.... _________________ Olli Haavisto

Mike,
I tried an MXR Van Halen model yesterday and it sounds gorgeous !
It`s based on the Phase 90 with an added mode button for two different phase modes. I liked the "more" mode better.
