One of the levers on my S10 feels like it is grinding. I is E-Eb on LKR. There is a metal piece pushing against another under that feels like it is grinding on the other. There is grease on the pieces, but it feels rough still. What to do? |

From your description of the condition of the grease, it appears that the guitar may be overdue for maintenance. Try cleaning away as thoroughly as you can the old lubrication and then oil all moving parts (especially the changer) with a light machine oil (sewing machine oil works great). |

Check to see if a ball end from a string isn't in the changer. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

If you have two pieces of aluminum rubbing together, they will be grinding. It's commonly called "galling". The aluminum oxide on the surface of any pieces of aluminum will do that. Push the pieces apart as far as you can and clean the area with a pipe cleaner. Then, see if you can move the parts apart permantly. Otherwise, use very heavy grease. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |
