I've had one for 2 years and bought a second home from. Dallas. The new one is rattling more than the old one. The old one has always has a little buzzy rattle but it doesn't get noticed in the hall you're playing in, I don't think.it's never really bothered me. But the brand new one is worse.
It happens when playing deep low notes at certain frequencies..
It doesn't have to be that loud either.
Sounds like there's something loose?
I actually thought it was something in my room at home but I noticed it at a gig last night too.

Any ideas?

Had a Webb doing that. I ran a frequency generator into it to set up the rattle and located it. Was a bad glue joint on the baffle to the cabinet.

You may need someone to help by putting pressure on the baffle to see if that stops the noise while you are playing the low notes.

What kind of speakers?

I have also had that happen on several older Black Widow speaker due to the cone coming unglued at the attachment point of the bottom of the basket to the frame.

Any chance that handle is rattling?

Speaker should be be OK, but can be 100 percent sure without testing. Is the front grill removable? If so you might try it without the grill. Then have someone apply a slight pressure to the cone while playing. If that changes the rattle then it may be a bad speaker.

From the picture it looks like the speaker is front mounted. If so, you can remove the grill. Check the speaker mounting screws to be sure they are tight

I will investigate later in the week. The good thing is, the louder you play, the more you don't hear it. So I kinda think it may not be speaker. I am pretty sure it's not handles or tilt handles at the bottom. Probably baffle board or front grill. Does anyone know if they prise off on velcrose like the old session 500 fronts?

By the way Ken, your Ken Fox vintage amp kept up with everything last night. It was a large hall too, and I was loud, drums were miked too, and John kept up with us all blasting it out. He is well happy with his amp. Very Happy

David,
Ken's the expert, but a simple wood wedge might help you find the noise. Make a wood wedge about three inches long and about 1/4 inch thick on the thick end. Try to insert the wedge in every accessible glue joint in the cabinet while playing through the amp. If you find the spot, put some glue on both sides of the wedge, push it in the crack, and break off the rest of the wedge. Should be a permanent solution.
