Has anyone ever made a 6 string pedabro, or acoustic pedal steel? Seems like keeping it a six would solve the soft acoustic volume problem that the 10 stringers are plagued with. Plus if you added one of the fishman aura systems you could take it on stage and play along with any volume band.

Back around "54 or "55 Shot made and played a dobro on stage and on some recordings that had pedals attached!! I'm not sure if it was a 6 or 7 stringer ?? It worked and sounded good !! More recently Paul Franklin played a real pedalbro that was made with a pickup and sounded real good !! I'm sure there are pics of Pauls steel somewhere on the Forum !!
