July 18th. is the date for our next OPEN STAGE at East Texas SGA. JACK MATTHEWS will be the artist of the day but we still have open slots for those who want to come and showcase their talent. If you are close enough and want a slot, be sure and contact me no later than July 15th. The program will be complete by that date. Late requests will be considered according to time available.

Don't forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have both Jodys with us in August------
Jody Cameron and Jody Sanders..... Don't miss that one.

Go to Tyler if for no other reason that to see the "long stem roses". And I don't mean the ones growing on bushes either. I've never seen such pretty young ladies in my life than in Tyler, Texas!

ERV,

They grow 'em long and tall here in Tyler----that is ROSES and LADIES.

We are proud of both but mostly proud of the great talent that comes to play for our association every month.--- Johnny and Joan Cox, Buddie Hrabal, Corky Owens, Jack Matthews, Junior Knight, Buck Grantham, Bob McCormick, Jim Evans, Bobbe Seymour, Billy Braddy, Louie Hallford, Albert Talley (and his great singing wife Debbie) and a host of other great players and very talented artists that come play for us. I'M SORRY I CAN'T LIST EVERYONE OF THEM HERE----- but it would be pleasure to add your name if the opportunity ever presents itself to us. We have a spot just for you. Herb Steiner also has an open invitation. HEAR ME HERB???

I won't be able to make it to the show but I'll be in Palesine, Tx for a show on the 4th. One of the guys I play for is from Tyler. His name is Brooks Atwood. Wish I could make it to your show but maybe I'll see you on the 4th.

Hey Charles
Had a GREAT time in Palistine on the 4th. I'll be in Jacksonville, Tx on the 17th. I'm not sure about when we're leaving but I'll see about getting over to your show if at all possible. We'll be coming in from Leesville, La. the night before.
I heard that the country band on the 3rd was really good (that would have been you). I also heard they had some rock group that had some trouble with equipment and the promotors had to go buy an amp or something to get them on. I don't remember the whole story, just that the guy telling it had us rolling on the ground.
You take care and hopefully I'll see you sunday. Whip
