They call him the greatest, and hard to disagree. Bobbe Seymour in another post called him the most commercial player, because of all the artists he helped have hits because of his great playing. I would argue that he was successful because he wasn't commercial, but rather forged his own unique sound (much like Sneaky Pete did also), that tickled listeners ears. Either way, we're saying the same thing; that Moons wonderful playing defined the hits of some of our favorite artists.
