Carter Guitars Website is a very good place to check out, if you havent already.
Lots of great info on setup and adjustments of Carter guitars.
This page in particular may be of interest.

Richard, I need a chart that tell me what pedal or knee
goes to which string and the changes to that string.
I looked on carter and could not find it.
I have a D10 5 and 9 if that helps.
Thanks for any help you can give me

Carter D-10s were made to order with the player's copedent. The standard production model was 8 pedals, 5 knee levers, so your 9+5 was obviously made for a player who knew that he wanted an extra pedal.

This is copedent that John Fabian usually recommended:

Tab:
 TOP NECK             PEDALS                 KNEE LEVERS
  E9    1   2   3   4   5   6   7   8    LKL LKV LKR RKL RKR
--------------------------------------------------------------
  F#                                                  G#
  Eb                                                     D,C#
  G#        A
  E             F#                        F       Eb
  B     C#      C#                            Bb
  G#        A                                         F#
  F#
  E                                       F       Eb
  D                                                       C#
  B     C#                                    Bb
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
BOTTOM NECK          PEDALS                  KNEE LEVERS
  C6    1   2   3   4   5   6   7   8    LKL LKV LKR RKL RKR
--------------------------------------------------------------
  D
  E                         F
  C                             D                     B
  A                 B           B
  G                     F#
  E                         Eb
  C                                 C#
  A                 B
  F                     F#          E
  C                     D           A
--------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: On the top neck, RKL is split to allow you to get G on string 6 using P2 in combination.

Legend
LKL = Left Knee Left
LKV = Left Knee Vertical
LKR = Left Knee Right
RKL = Right Knee Left
RKR = Right Knee Right

Bob pretty much covered the info on the Carter page:

Carter Site

I assume this is the site you visited. There is not just info on the tunings Bob posted, but info on how to change, adjust, etc. Great site.

A guess on the 9th pedal would be the "Franklin Pedal" lower 5 & 10 from B to A, and possibly the 6th from G# to F# (some just lower the B's - as I think Paul does now - and lower the G# on a lever and combine the two to get all 3 changes). This extra pedal may have been added to what Carter calls the "Zero" pedal position, which is to the left of the A pedal. But, that is just a guess. I would also guess that if the player was knowledgeable enough to add a 9th pedal, he probably also had the other right knee lever making a change on the C6th neck. Maybe the 4th (and maybe the 8th) A strings to Bb.

If you have any more questions, just let us know.
