At about 7:15 or so, he teaches a neat little thing.
I want more of this type of thing in my vocabulary.

Well, the type of lick you're describing and Chris Scruggs is playing in that video is playable in just about any tuning. What tuning are you using?

There are a number of different videos expanding on this type of playing, but without knowing what tuning you'll be using, it's hard to recommend a particular set of videos.

Gary Anwyl lists some resources on his website.

Here's one video on YouTube for C6th licks.

Both Josh Cho and the late Rick Alexander have many videos on YouTube dealing with this tuning.

Put on your favorite steel guitar recording and figure out some of those licks for yourself. It won't cost you anything and you'll get to know your steel a whole better in the process.
