I spent many an hour listening to ARS...When I first moved to Atlanta...Dean Daughtry, the keyboardist was one of the first musicians I met...A lot of people don't know that ARS was basically Dennis Yost's band (The Classics IV) before Buddy Buie produced them as a Southern Rock band...Great guys, and a great band...We'll miss you Ronnie... _________________ ARTIST RELATIONS: MSA GUITARS

Hello Mickey, This thing called the internet certainly makes our world a little smaller. I met Ronnie when I went to work for Buddy and Gloria at Studio One in Doraville in the mid 70's and we.ve stayed close. I was actually the steel player on Silver Eagle from The Boys From Doraville album. Dean was there as was most of the original members. It was a very nice memorial service for Ronnie. I also follow your post and instruction clips on youtube and you just never know who you may run across in this crazy business. Thanks for the kind words for Ronnie |

Rick, in the 70s I was in Doraville too...I live right behind Treasure Island off of Tilly Mill Road..It wasnt until many years later that I met the guys. I wish I could have made the service...Wednesday another service...for our good friend Ralph Mooney...right down the street from me...Its been a very emotional year for us all in the music business...We've lost some very influential people....Ronny was one of them....thanks for posting. And youre right...Ya never know whos looking...! _________________ ARTIST RELATIONS: MSA GUITARS

I didn't know ARS personally, but they provided the sound track to the happiest time of my life. Ronnie Hammond's voice and Barry Bailey's guitar tone are etched in my soul. Raising a glass of "Champagne Jam" to Mr. Hammond. |
