Did my first bit of studio recording with my lovely PSG last night and it was a moderate success...still work to do though (as always).

A funny problem while tuning it up though, and something I've seen before but didn't think to address it before I actually got in the studio with the thing!!! I have a double stop on my second knee lever right which affects the top F#. Rittenberry S10. I tune the open string using the machine head, then go to tune the knee lever with the hex nut thing at the other end of the guitar (same as with all the other pedals and levers which all tune fine) and nothing seems to happen. Then I release the knee lever after trying to wind up the hex nut and find that I've changed the pitch of the open string by the amount I've wound the hex nut, but all the while no change to the pitch with the knee lever actually applied.

I though maybe the hex nut was too tight and so loosened it a fair bit (hoping that it didn't shoot off when I applied the knee lever) and this seemed to help be able to get it in pitch properly, but I'm still not sure what was causing it. It was wound in a fair bit.

I'm sure this is just something simple, hoping anyway, I just haven't come across it yet.

Cheers,

Ben.

Hi Ben,
Try moving the bell crank with your fingers. You should feel
the cross shaft move very easy. If it don't there's a brass
collar on the end of the shaft, the one by the rear apron.
Just loosen the allen screw and check the pedal while loose.
Humidity and temp will sometimes drive ya' crazy on these.
I took my collars off and sanded a little off them.
