Dave,
I'm the other guy who has a Marlen U-12. If I can find the aluminum channel, I can probably make you a pedal rack to match mine. I've already got the polished SS bolts and wing nuts for my pedal rack. How many pedals do you have?

Hi Glen - I have 7 pedals and my rack is fine but it weighs a TON! Looking to change it for a lighter one. I'll be in NJ this summer; where are you playing? _________________ Dave O'Brien

Well, I'm not playing steel anywhere right now. My Marlen is currently in pieces, because the copedent was an old idea I had when I first bought it. I'm cleaning it up and rodding it to a modern U-12. I might have it done by the time you get to NJ. Is your pedal rack an aluminum channel like mine? I've got 5 pedals and my rack isn't that heavy. |

Dave,
These is something you can do to make your rack lighter, and it's almost invisible. If your rack is like mine, there is a big, heavy steel rod serving as the pedal axle. You can replace this solid rod with a piece of pipe turned to the right diameter (by a machine shop). Might save half a pound. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |
