Just got home a little bit ago. Thanks to Herby Wallace (sounding good!), Joe Wright, David Wright, and Janet Lynn for inviting me to play for them-Janet, I promise to learn "Statue of a Fool" for next year.
The nonpedal session is getting better each year as well-I got to play with some fine players there as well-Mike Neer, Rose Sinclair, Bob Hoffnar, John Lang, Tony Locke, Rich Sullivan, Cindy Cashdollar-all with different takes on the tradition and direction of steel guitar. Mucho fun, and thanks to Jeff, Howard, and all involved in putting together an event in danger of outgrowing its room. Thanks to Albert Talley and everyone at TSGA-it was a great 4 days. |

It was a real fine show this year. Glad we got to hang around some together. Kathy always enjoys visiting with Mary. Next time we have to do some playing. |

Hey Steve
It was a privilege to play steel with you on bass and Mike Neer on guitar. I met so many friendly people and heard tons of great music. The Nonpedal Room was a cool scene as usual -- thanks to Jeff and Howard for all their hard work in putting that together. |

Thanks, Howard. I love that "twin guitar" sound and Mike Neer was kind enough to learn the part and nail it! |

I was lucky enough to get to jam with Howard on Saturday night in the Rick Alexander non-pedal room. He's as fine a fiddler as you'd ever want in your band; I was so impressed by his playing.
Steve Alcott was one of the journeymen who kept the room going (along with Carco Clave on guitar, Mike Neer on guitar, and Mark Roeder on violin). His bass playing anchored so many of the players, and he did a fine job no matter who he was supporting. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
