| Was playing around with a beat up old Bakelite bar that came with an old guitar recently and wanted to find one in better shape. Anyone making them these days? Can find zero info out there. As for plastic bars, I’ve got one of Basils but want something a bit softer as well. |

I should clear up that Basils bars are Polymer which the internet tells me is not plastic.  |

Synthetic plastics are a subset of polymers. Proteins are another. Perhaps Basil's bars are made of some type of cheese.

Give it some time. My Eezzee Slide is several years old and has softened up quite a bit from natural wear. It has a great feel to it. Unfortunately it also has some gouges in it due to dropping it on a concrete floor too many times.
