This is (one way) how great steels should be made.

The seller's full description show's proper attention to detail in designing a tone monster. Well worth the 'snag-it-now!' price, I'd say.

That's Ron Bednar (he used to post here a lot, hasn't been around in a long time).

That model was custom built by Rance White of Lazy River Guitars for forumite Ron Bednar, who also came up with most of the design, some years ago.

I was thinking of doing the "snipe" on that....
It's the horseshoe thats the real draw, and I believe Jason will be making a 8 string version soon.
Plus, all my extra pennies are getting gathered for this!!!

While we all love those PUs, you can put virtually any PU into this guitar and you'll have killer sound, but put that great horseshoe into just any other guitar and the benefit could well be less than expected. I've got two examples staring at me to prove it... It's the quality build design that lead me to post, the fine PU is merely the coup de grace.

The aluminum core is an interesting design and one I've spent some time contemplating. Hopefully one of these days soon I'll have some extra time to start working on the prototype.

Oh yeah, Ron, I'm sure you're right. I was thinking in terms of rarity. I have that sierra with the Lollar/Aiello MRI, but I've never tried it with any other PU. AND I think I've been obsessed with getting Aiello stuff, ever since I took Alan Akaka's class over on Kauai with K. Blanchett. --He wrote Rick and got one of those "fountain" PU's and had it installed on an old lap steel, and it just has this different tone, I can't really put my finger on it...But I will be selling Aiello #11, and a fuzzy table steel, some guitars, etc to fund:
LEFTY hollow square neck tricone...Are there any lefty squarenecks from the past?? I asked the Broz once, and he said no..
