Wiz,,,I have the free (manual) version of Malwarebytes which I have run at least once a week for a year or so (always update before running). Last night I ran it and for the first time it found a "trojan". I clicked remove,,,it said it did and requested I restart. I restarted. Is there anything else I need to do? Can I tell if the "trojan" effected anything? How can I be sure it's gone? |

Sonny;
Since MBAM detects that Trojan, your best bet is to update it and scan again.
You can get information about the malware it removed by opening the History log.
Note, that many Trojans are not just stand-alone; some have big brothers. If a followup scan (after rebooting) reveals that Mr. Trojan Horse is back inside the gates, he has an Achilles watching his back. You need a more precise arrow to incapacitate the big brother. This arrow needs to target rootkits. Such arrows exist at BleepingComputer.com and are hidden away in a secret quiver.
Let me know if your Trojan Horse gets detected in a followup scan and I will point you to the Achilles Heel arrow. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

If you only ran the "quick" scan, run the "full" scan, now. |
