I am a very good 6 string player, and have some experience on the pedal steel. I'm looking for a good entry level guitar and some instruction help.
1) Any suggestions for a good beginner guitar under $1000?
2) Good (really to the point) E9 instruction DVD's?
Thanks for your input. John T Carlsbad CA. |

You should go up to Jim Palenscar's shop in Oceanside and get a guitar and lessons. http://www.steelguitars.me/ Between he and Rick Schmidt, you are where you need to be IMHO |

Try to find a used pro model MSA, here on the forum. Preferrably with 3x4
Look into the Winnie Winston book, "Pedal Steel Guitar", available, here, on the Forum
good luck
Rick

Hey Jesse, I took advantage of your download offer. I hope you don't mind , I am a newbie also and need all the help I can get. Unfortunately there are no teachers or instructors in my area within 200 miles. Thanks for the info. |

No problem ...I teach music in my hometown here, but I have to admit I am a newbie to pedal steel as well. It's really just a compilation of chords and scales I've learned since I started playing. Hope it helps! I still use it all the time. _________________ Playing an '81 BMI SD-10 4&6 through a Peavey Delta Blues 2x10 all-tube amp.
