The Medora Musical, ( see medora.com) seeks a steel player ASAP for summer gig in Badlands of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Excellant pay, all expenses paid including transportaion, private housing with maid service, private bath, and three meals per day available in three choices of restaurants. Call Curt at (612)940-7757, or email at medora8773@aol.com.
Past steel players include Russ Wever, Jim McCartney, and Roger Rettig - all good references. Gig runs from May 24th to Sept. 5th. Show is each evening in 3000 seat amphitheatre with 6 piece band and 13 singers. Call me! |

worst gig I have ever played.I sold my entire equipment after that summer and it took me a couple years to get back to playing music again.Great job for a beginer or a teenager student looking for some extra cash.

If I was retired and didn't have a day job I sure would be mighty tempted. I've traveled through the Badlands a couple of times and really found it to be a special place. Truly befitting of a National Park, especially if you like geology. I'd think there would be somebody who'd want to hop on this job. Besides, someone needs to keep the steel position filled. Be a shame if they don't fill it. |

I'd do it again, but I'm already busy this Summer so was unable to accept Curt's offer.
The only down-side to me was being away from home for over three months. Everything else is as Curt describes it. I made some good friends, played a lot of golf, and put on about 10 pounds! There are minor irritations as with any gig, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Call me next year, Curt!
