Who is the steel player for Ray Lamontagne and the Pariah dogs? I saw him playing a Williams keyless in a video of "Beg, Steal or Borrow" on Ellentv.com and it was really nicely done.

Yep...
Greg Liesz played steel (& more) on that record, too.
There was also a lot of great stuff with them playing together.
I really like those guys. So great together, too.
Very cool.

Cool

Eric Heywood and Greg Leisz have also been on an extended tour with Ray as Pariah Dogs, and on one or two songs they're both playing pedal steel, a rare sight in any era.

There's also an EP available on iTunes (exclusive) called "Live Session". Some really great stuff there too.

I recently spoke with Greg about the "God Willing" album. He told me they recorded it all at Ray's house, back east. (Upstate New York, I believe.)
He said they recorded it all live, with very few overdubs. They finished it all in 3 or 4 days.
Greg also played some guitar on the record.

The iTunes "Live Sessions" EP may be from that weeks recordings (I'm not sure)... I especially love the steel on the song "Empty". TONE baby!
