Very intriguing sound.. half acoustic sounding with some dobro and old lap steel vibe mixed in.. I heard a cut from a session the builder did with a band, and on that record it sounded similar to a pedabro.. His playing was killer too!
Really cool sound .. I would LOVE that sound at the flick of a switch, but to me its just too woody sounding to be a main squeeze pedal steel.. Very nice work, albeit quite unusual...
I wonder how he gets that "woody" sound from that design, and with a humbucker to boot???... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

If I was back in the "arms race" I'd definitely have a Moyo. |

There's a fair bit of hum coming from the guitar every time the volume pedal is depressed. The Tone Aligner pickup, which is on this particular guitar being demo'ed, is normally an extremely quiet performer. Something wrong there somehow. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Dunno, Ken. On the demo video introducing the gtr. everything seems noisy; vocal, gtr. whole thing. But the other vid with the songs, especially the samples with the Glenn Taylor orch., IMO, the Moyo not only sounds quiet, but pretty sweet. |

How does it sound without being plugged into an amp? It would be way cool to have a PSG that you use in an acoustic jam. _________________ Maverick

That actually sounds (headphones, always) a good bit more like the noises in my head than most of the standard aluminumated steels. It takes me a certain effort to get rid of the bite that so many steelers obviously love. Lucky thing I'm poor, it helps so much with the "impulse shopping" thing.
