PBS aired Lyle Lovett at ACL’s last taping in Studio 6A (taped in Nov,2010) Last night! Buck Reid played in the "Large Band" format, no extended solos, but flawless tasty parts...He has an AMAZING right hand!! I wish they were on for the full hour.Catch it if you can! JS

Right John. Buck had a pretty good ripping solo on One Way Rider. Such a tasteful player with superb tone on that JCH.

Guys, thanks for the mention and the kind words. I wasn't sure when they would air the show. It was kinda cool to be part of the last taping at studio 6a... the show will go on in a new studio but I've seen many of my heroes perform on that stage which makes it a little sad at the same time. The atmosphere was one of mixed feelings as you might imagine but most of the staff and crew members were happy to be moving to a new updated studio.

Whew... Shocked I was able to view it on the NPR web site a couple of days ago. Great show indeed! My wife, Kathy and I had the opportunity to see Lyle and even get acquainted with Buck when they all came to Portland a couple of years ago to perform. Even better in person... and it was such a pleasure to meet Buck. Such a humble and down to earth guy! The very short solo breaks he gets on those shows are just the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to his mastery of the pedal steel. Don't ever miss the oppoetunity to see him perform at one of the steel conventions, as you'll be in awe...just as I am.

Hi Buck, Good talking with you the other day!

Caught the show on PBS last night. What a great band, love that cadre of backup singers. Lyle and the guys sure know how to lay down a groove! Buck played great, as did all the band members. What a great gig to have, Buck. (Did I notice they listed you in the credits as "Richard Buck Reid" or was it "Robert Buck Reid"? There's a good little trivia question for a future occasion...)
