I'm from the acoustic world and haven't paid attention to amplifiers, over the years. I'm playing a lot of lapsteel and non pedal steel, and need a decent small amp, primarily for practice purposes. I bought a VOX VT30 for this purpose, and am only partly satisfied. It really wants to distort and, in order to use headphones, I have to turn everything up so high that there's quite a bit of distortion. Plus, it has no direct out.
So, what I'd like is a small, good sounding amp that works well with headphones and has a direct out so I could run it through the band's PA, if I ever get to that point. I'm hoping to stay under $300, and ideas?
Thanks,
