Hello everybody, this is my first post. I've been following the forum for the past couple of months and now finally joined.

I don't play steel but I have the fever thanks to the Mississippi steel guitar jam I attended a while back.

I got to meet Mr. Bill Stafford, Royce Tarver, Bobby Bowman, Mike Brewer(?), Larry Moore and others. My wife and I had a wonderful time there. They treated us real well.

Mr. Royce Tarver put me in touch with Reggie Duncan(great player) who plays at the Country Village Opry in Tickfaw, Louisiana. I'm going to take lessons with Reggie as soon as possible.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just really excited to have found this family.

Make yourself a great day!

Welcome Aboard Pookie, and thanks for telling us about yourself.

Those guys you mentioned are certainly enough to get the fever.

You're doing the right thing by finding a good teacher to start with. You'll stop any bad habits early.

I look forward to "seeing" you around here.

Thanks you guys. I used to play country music years ago. Played lead guitar for a number of years. I was brought up on the good old stuff like Kitty Wells, Ferlin Husky,Jim Reeves, Loretta Lynn, etc.
I always loved the sound of pedal steel.
I bought a used Fender 10 string,3 pedal, 1 knee bar and hardshell case. Paid $100.00 dollars for it. Talk about a steal(pun intended). It was in mint condition.
So, as soon as I can get away, I'm going to Reggie's.
