I think it is similar to the jack cup on a Telecaster guitar. Mine got loose in my Stringmaster, so I put a modern Stu-Mac "Electrosocket" cup in there along with a new Switchcraft jack. Works great if you don't mind putting 2 small screw holes into your guitar.

Not sure, but maybe this will help. Works great on electric guitars.

The problem with the Stew-Mac item is that the 'clip' that does the work (sometimes!) of holding the whole thing in, is dependant on getting a bite into the sides of the hole in the wood.

One false move in over-tightening, and you're gone...the rectangular plate will likely deform and not lock into the sides of the hole (assuming you've got a hole the right size to begin with.. Whoa! )

The electrosocket way is by far the most reliable..admittedly you've got to drill pilot holes for two woodscrews, but........

There are usually a few on eBay for not much $$....bear in mind that you're just buying the ferrule : you still need a jack..

...happy jacking.. Very Happy

Funny, it worked for Leo Fender! Whoa!

Yeah, but Leo had a fresh clean wood hole to work with. There's a reason that a lot of Tele players have switched to the "Electrosocket". A loose jack at a gig is a real drag. I found that out the hard way.

Leo Fender Was a Genius, But If The Electrosocket had been around when he first started making guitars he would have gladly incorporated something that functioned better, The Electrosocket.

Quite so. In case you haven't already noticed, there seems to me a bit of a spelling problem around these parts and don't get me started on grammar and punctuation.

Anyway, to address the original poster's question, here's a photo of how the clip should look installed:

The cup is secured to the clip with the jack. HTH.
