Axe-FX, Revelation Preamps, Boutique Amps, Midi Footswitches, Pods and all the stompboxes, cords and cables be gone. I want to read your reviews of IK Multimedia Software on an iPad (Software = Amplitude or the AmpliTube Fenderâ„¢ for iPad) with your steel guitar.
Looking to reduce the plethora of clutter and weight.
An iPad mounted with an iKlip on a mike stand with an iRig adapter with Amplitude Software running a line out to a PA...reduces the RIG to a Steel Guitar, and a Pak a Seat with a small soft sided briefcase. Setup time cut in half....more playing and less setting up. That's what I'm talking about.
Have you had any experience with a similar setup?
If so, please share it! _________________ Steel Guitarist - Retired

I have tried amplitube out on the computer, and no matter how I configure it, it never sounds good with the Pedal Steel. It does, however, sound decent with a guitar - but not as good as a properly tweaked amp!
Also, latency would be a really annoying issue for you with this setup. Even though they have got it down to where its barely noticeable on a computer, I doubt the iPad has enough processing to handle a live performance using the software.
You could split the signal and monitor through a DI - but then you don't get to hear what your amp model is doing and you create weird phasing issues with the other signal.
That $7-800 you spend on the iPad setup will get you a very nice lightweight amp! _________________ Milkmansound.com |
