mini-Jam Session at Lake Garda, Italy

A sunny but cold winter's day at Lake Garda induced three musicians to think of warmer climes and music to create the illusion. Kay Das (steel guitar), Danilo Paiusco (lead and rhythm strat) who is leader of the Italian Shadows-like group "The Hawks" and Mario Tononi (Yamaha sampler keyboards) who is a famous music maestro and choral music composer/arranger with several international performances to his credit. The session was impromptu and not recorded but some of the thirty-something tunes played were:

Steel guitar has seen some little recent interest, however, a long way to go (!) with it being featured in the hit "Sincerità" by singer Arisa which featured Italian steel guitarist Maurizio Filardo playng steel on stage with her in a widely popular video-show aired on RAI TV, of the San Remo music festival 2010 in which she was the winner.
