hi there i have a 1939/1940 national new yorker, white roman numeral markers. i noticed when checking out a more mint condition version than my one on ebay that this guitar would have had some kind of foam stuck in the indent on the back of the guitar (kind of rectangular with rounded corners), which would have prevented slipping on the lap. any ideas as to whether or not these would have been glued on or tacked on ? i wouldn't want to damage the back of the guitar if i need to change it, as it seems the original one must have been removed without major surgery to the guitar!
thanks
chris
