This BMI 12 string was custom built for Bob Hilton, by Don Fritsche.
Not only is this etched into the "badge" on the guitar, but both Don Fritsche & Dan Burnham of BMI (great folks), have personally confirmed this with me.
I have also gotten some details from another friend of Bob's about this psg.
The guitar is in real nice condition.
It's about 15 years old.
It's a wide body & short, being a keyless.
*It is a push/pull guitar.
*It has a lacquered maple sides w/see thru purple stain, & a white oak top with black mica on the top.
*Keyless tuners. It STAYS IN TUNE.
*Metal neck, 25" scale, which BMI got from Sierra just for this guitar.
*7 pedals, 6 knees
(2 are verticals, but one of those is not connected.)
*Comes with a nice case, also in great condition, & a nice leg bag.
*I was told that this is extended E9 tuning, but being the newbie I am, I'm not positive, although I do know that the first several top strings are E9.
*The first 3 pedals are the Day set up. Very comfortable.
*The action is oh so smooth & easy on all pedals & levers.
Asking $2,200 obo. All reasonable offers considered.
Will split shipping cost with buyer.
I can email more/better pics.
This guitar is actually pictured on the BMI website.

Why is this still for sale? If I were in the USA I'd be buying it today. Solid birdseye - Don at BMI made me a S12 similar to this one with the same timber and it sounds beautiful. |

Thanx for the kind attention, Damien.
Yep, it's a very nice piece. Don is some kind of craftsman, that's for sure. This thing plays so easy.
But, I may have an even swap goin' on for something very cool with a real nice fellow. So, unless someone steps up with some cash real quick, I'm gonna let her go...

My goodness, Ron. Your BMI suddenly makes me believe that I am indeed a U player...even though I've never actually sat down behind a U steel. Hey, since I'm not sure that can play any tuning, E9. C6, A6, or even Q-squared, a purple BMI looks like just what I need, Being one of them "ZB nuts". (OK, Chris Ivey, you can chime in, but I stand by my ramblings). In any event, Ron, I hope the trade works out for you and better yet I hope you get a great sale. Your BMI looks like a good'un.

Thanx, Duncan.
She is a good 'un.
This guitar is one of a kind... It's a "one off" from BMI.
Built by Don, for a friend, & treated & cared for with appreciation since it left the builders hands.
Looks like she may be going to a new owner next week.
