The Florida Steel Guitar Club's January 2011 Meeting/Jam will be Wednesday, January 12th, CR470, Lake Panasoffkee, Fl. (our regular Meeting/Jam place).
Come early and support Catfish Johnny's Restaurant before the jam.

See ya'll next week.

Probably true, Dave, but I think maybe he's found himself an inflatable guitar and some kind of hydrogen powered amp.

Yeah - I'm working up a rig like Max's with a GK MB200 (200 watts - 2 pounds) into a Neo 15". Amp and cabinet together comes in about 21#. Us old folks got to cut weight wherever we can!

I got a note this afternoon that Johnny Bondz is planning on coming to the jam this month. Johnny doesn't get out to do the jam too often. He had gall bladder surgery last month.

Thanks for the kind words, Dave.
Skip has it figured out, I finally got the MB200 that I ordered in Nov. Rolling Eyes I had tried Max's and was amazed at the sound and weight. I already had my Steel King in split cabs and changed to a Sica speaker from Ken Fox. Now, if I can get a helium-filled bladder fitted under my Emmons......... Winking

Fred - they make a rubber fuel bladder for boats. Put some helium in it and stuff it up under the Emmons - OR - you could get a bunch of those birthday balloons at Publix and tie 'em on each corner

I have an Emminence 12" "Tonkerlite" neo speaker. It was put into a cabinet to be used with a Crate power block for lead guitar. Surprisingly, it also makes a good steel speaker for both E9th and C6th. It's weight is about 4 lbs.

I've used it on stage with the Franklin to see what it would do and it did good.

We will have some door prizes to give out this time, thanks to Bobbe Seymour, Steel Guitar Nashville. Bobbe sent some of his CD's and some Cobra Coil strings.

See you all at Catfish Jonny's.
I'll have my Weenick for those snowbirds who haven't seen it.
I'll also unvail my latest E9th book with many chord forms not usually found on the E9th neck.
In doing the book I was surprised to find some I hadn't known as well.

I, also, will have a new MB200 amp/cabinet ready for next time. Maybe Max, Fred and I can start a club or something.
