Quote:
To my Dearest family, and friends, Some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

"Well They say the angels in heaven play the harps.
But when I get there if I do.
I hope they play a steel guitar."

We are going to miss you ole friend.
Your steel guitar family.

Thanks so much Danny. Rob was always nice to me even though we didn't know each other well and I will miss him terribly as I always looked forward to seeing his smiling face and hearing him sing.

Hello Danny: That was very nice. I'm glad I did get to meet him a couple of times. I enjoyed his singing and his Steel Guitar playing. He will be missed very much. When ever he would sing or play, you could always tell he was very special and a good man. You know, he might be talking to our good friend, Don Helms right now. We will see Rob and Don some day.

Your Friend, Jim

Thanks for this for Rob and for all of us to cherish.
First, Rob was my navy shipmate, then my musician friend - and now a guiding light for all of us.
At the funeral home, I asked his son Michael to attach my navy flag pin on Rob's shirt collar. This he did. Rob will have my friendship and love with him forever , from now on. RIP my dear friend. You have really been loved and respected here on this earth. You done the best job and wil be terrible missed.

This is so sad. I can't imagine how many times at the Dallas show I've heard the call from onstage, "Is Rob Parker in the hall?" And shortly thereafter Rob would usually appear on stage ready for whatever tune was called. A real class act that will be missed.

Sad Ill miss Rob who was almost always the first person I saw at the ISGC, He would come into the big empty hall and say HELLO MR DON from across the room his Booming voice heard plain and clear. I didnt know Rob was Ill or sick and was sure surprised to hear of his passing as is most ive told here in Illinois and Missouri that Knew Rob from Various steel shows, a great and talented singer and capable of great Emotion while he renderd a tune for whomever called him onstage, always ready to sing, always willing to sing and he did a great job on whatever he was asked. Thanks for the Pleasure of your freindship and your talents. Rest In Peace my Friend and Great Job Danny, I know Rob would smile a big Ole Grin.....

"Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain."

I heard Rob say those very words to the audience at Scotty's a year or two ago, while lamenting the passing of another steel guitarist.

Thanks!
