Hi. I recently bought a nice Carter SD10, sounds really fine and stays in tune. Its serial number is 00258051-30. I'd like to know if it has the BCT system.. or how I can check if it's installed on... but what is it? _________________ Carter D10 8+5, Carter SD10 4+5, Hilton ME202, Goodrich L120, Peterson StroboPlus HD, Digitech DigiDelay, Peavey Nashville 112 Ken Fox Modded, Peavey Special 130 Ken Fox Modded, Zookies and Dunlop Picks, Ernie Ball Bar, George L'S Cables, Jagwire Strings... and my crappy hands, foot and knees |

Matteo:
You can look down between the changer and the far right end of your guitar. If you can see the floor, BCT is not installed. If you can see wood, you have BCT. You can also email Al Brisco with your serial number and he can tell you the year and if you have BCT. His email address is :steelcan@steelguitarcanada.com . Where to look? On the right side of the changer, where are fixed the strings? There I can see the wood. _________________ Carter D10 8+5, Carter SD10 4+5, Hilton ME202, Goodrich L120, Peterson StroboPlus HD, Digitech DigiDelay, Peavey Nashville 112 Ken Fox Modded, Peavey Special 130 Ken Fox Modded, Zookies and Dunlop Picks, Ernie Ball Bar, George L'S Cables, Jagwire Strings... and my crappy hands, foot and knees |

Yes, between the changer where the strings are attached and the frame. Since you can see the wood that contacts the changer it appears that you have BCT. If you could see down right thru that area and see the floor, there would be no BCT. I suggest you email Al Brisco and he can confirm and also give you the date of your guitar. _________________ 1999 Carter D10 (9x8),Digitech RP150,Hilton Volume Pedal,Roland Cube 80XL,Nashville 112,BJS Bar |

When I look down I see a metal plate, it blocks the view of the return springs.

I just checked mine. It is a 1999 D10 CARTER and has confirmed BCT. I can see the fingers touching wood if I look down where the strings attach to the changer. I can see the floor if I look down the other side of the changer. Does this help? _________________ 1999 Carter D10 (9x8),Digitech RP150,Hilton Volume Pedal,Roland Cube 80XL,Nashville 112,BJS Bar |
