Anyone know if the Yamaha n12 Digital Mixing Studio is compatable with Cubase 5? I believe it comes with a version of Cubase Ai4, but I am thinking of starting my own studio using Cubase 5, and have not seen any documentation on the Yamaha n12 with Cubase 5.

I think it would be a nice tool to use, but don't want to think of spending $1,200 bucks... and it not work correctly.

Also, can a person come out of a interface with a firewire (IEEE 1394) cable and into a USB2 port with simply an adapter? Is there more to it than that? Is there any loss of speed, increased latency, etc by doing this?

My new computer has 6 USB2 ports and no firewire ports! I'm new to recording directly to a computer.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
