A friend of mine has a single neck Emmons push-pull guitar with serial number 143 BR.
Any push-pull experts out there know what that serial number signifies?
When it was built?
The significance of the BR?
Thanks for the help.

Either it is BIG and RED or it is a Black Rock, which was a model made in the early mid 1970s that had more features than a Student Model but fewer features than a Professional Grade. For example, a Black Rock had a low neck rather than a fretboard attached directly to the top deck mica. Also, a Black Rock has endplates with the "ears" that wrapped around the ends of the aprons rather than a simple flat plate at the end of the guitar. Some student models came with real endplates as well, however. Black Rocks had wood pedal racks, I believe.
Or it may simply be Big and Red. But I am guessing it is normal sized and Black. _________________ Chris Lucker

Hi Chris. I think you are right about the Black Rock since it does have a neck and a wood pedal rack. I'll have to pay closer attention to the end plates. Thank you for the help.
