A singer-songwriter friend of mine is considering having "Ambassador" Charlie Ray promote her tunes in Nashville. Do any of you know much about him and how legitimate he is? He seems to do blast mailings to solicit new business (I have received them myself in the past, even though I'm not a writer.) We've checked him out at the Better Business Bureau, and he has an A+ rating there. Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

p.s. I think there may have been an old thread about him several years ago, but I could not locate it with a Search.

Interesting that he posts pictures of lots of gold records all over his office, yet not one of them is RIAA certified...

I also received a "post card" from him several months ago. He found me through a internet radio station in Nashville that was corresponding with me regarding some tunes I was writing for the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

From what I can tell, he pitches tunes in Nashville.

I would love to hear more about him as I never responded to him. I wonder how much money he wants to pitch my tunes? LOL

My friend says he wants $600 up front. Then doesn't make anything else from you until and unless a tune he promotes for you reaches at least $50,000 in earnings for you. My guess is he's making most of his money from the $600's he manages to reel in...
