hi folks...over the last 4 years i have tryed to give you, the customer the best product i could, with a inovative way of thinking. from pac-seats to all types of cases to rack units and speaker enclosers. as basicly a one person shop i've tryed to get your orders out within reason. and up to this point, to my knowledge i have never had a single complaint about the products i've sold. but what started out as a way to make a few extra bucks and have some fun in my shop building stuff has grown to where i can't handle it alone anymore and the 1st person i hired ripped me off blind...(more about that in a minute).this is not a sob story ..i just figured i would tell you how it is, i owe you folks that much. so with that said out west is shuting down, not completely , but from a full time venture. i'm going to go back to a part time thing, when it was fun. if someone wants a case or a seat from me, i'll build you one in between my school runs...in my spare time...this 24/7 in the shop is going to stop.

as for the robbery. the guy i had hired to help me get these seats done, stock for the texas show and other orders...well stupid me, i trusted him...he cased the joint and then came back with a truck and a couple of his friends and cleaned me out...however he ran into what we call a check stop up here and got caught red handed with the truck loaded with all my tools and stuff...i don't think he'll be doing that again any time soon. the police have givin me there list and everything is there in the truck and will be returned to the shop within 2 to 3 weeks after they prosess it for evedince. which brings me to the next part of this thread.

as for my obligations. i will fufill all the order's i have right now. seats, cases, etc. and then i'm going back into music where i belong...hmmm. it's been so long since i've played a guitar all my strings are turning to rust. i think it's time to correct that. for the seat sale we had in particular you guys have been wonderful through out all this mess and i thank you for that...but for the few that are going to request there money back. i'm sorry but there will be no refunds as you just paid for materials only and no labour and i can't unbuild what i've already done and return the parts. you will get your seats.

as for this wonderful steel guitar forum. i have found it to be very informative and usefull, and i urge you all to continue to support it. as for me, my life has to change and i really don't think i'll be back as i have to concentrate on other asspects. so this will be my last post. but with that said i wish to say that i have met some wonderful friends on here and will always keep them in my heart. bob please close my account...thank you

thanks and goodbye

Wayne, I am truely sorry about your situation, but it would be extreamly nice to let the people at least know what your schedule will be on delivering the 25 seats. We have waited a long time for them and I guess we can wait a while longer as long as we know they are coming eventually.

Hope the steel playing does better then you venture into manufacturing.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Wayne.

If you're staying involved in music why do you want to quit the Forum?

I must say I'm sort of surprised by the tone of your email, Wayne. We didn't steal your stuff, freeze your shop, we've just waited patiently. I'm not asking for my money back, at this point I've waited too long and just want the darn seat, but if someone did I think you should give it. It may not be your "fault" that the seats haven't gone out in time but its your obligation. We paid for the materials, you promised to get them out. Since you haven't come through with your side of the bargain, for whatever reason, you should offer money back.

Wayne,

Thank you for the services that you tried to provide the steel guitar community. You built for many of us top of the line gear, at a more than fair price. Where else are you gonna get a seat for a hundred bucks??? Or custom rack cases?? It's difficult to have any kind of manufacturing business these days, but to do it on TOP of a full time job and a family makes it all the more difficult. Not to mention having to pay for material up front, going over budget when a venor mis-quotes or material prices go up, help the robs you blind and I could go on. I think alot of us can understand what you went thru, and I tip my Stetson to you sir.

Thanks buddy,

Skeet

Wayne, I appreciate the work and time you put into the cases and seat you built for me. The quality was top notch and the service was the same. I'm sorry to hear of the misfortunes you have encountered lately and that you are closing shop. My best wishes to you and Lori and hope to meet you all someday. ------Skip Cole

Wayne, If someone does not want his seat, send it to me and I'll pay them for it. I prefer one that is an inch or two taller than normal, but thats not manditory.

I've seen firsthand the work that Wayne does and the dedication that he puts into it. The fact that he's been kicked in the pants several times should gain our sympathy, not our barbs. Back off and he'll get all the work done, in spades. I don't blame him for getting out of the stool business, it's the
****s!

I am sorry that these things have happened to Wayne. Not knowing about this I sent a rather impatient email to Wayne about the lateness of my seat. I wish to apologize to Wayne, in front of my PSG brethren, for this indiscretion, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors. Sincerely, Buck

Wayne, I'll be glad to receive my seat when it gets here. I've already bought the little round whoopee cushion with the hole in the middle. Works well until the bass player punctured it and let the air out. And you think you've got troubles? Ever try to blow up a whoopee cushion with a hole in it between songs?
Seriously, sorry to hear of the problems. Patience is a virtue and we hope you make it out of the mess OK.

Had email from Wayne today and he told me that the first 5 seats would be going out real soon. Said he still hasn't got anything back after the theft. He is working with borrowed tools.

How about putting up what you ordered on buy and sell if you don't want it. If someone wants to buy the seat, and buy you out of your commitment, they could do that either with you or wayne... that way everybody is happy. Or you might have to eat your deposit, to cover the materials. Just a thought...

I can only see it as really really lucky that the guy who took the stuff didn't get far... and that Wayne got all his tools and material back. Not just for him, but for everybody waiting on a seat.

Nicholas, I don't know who you are refering to, but I think the issue was and is that not much information has been forthcoming. I for one still want the seat or I would not be asking the questions. If you read my last post, you would know that Wayne has not received anything back from the police department yet (as of his last email to me)of any of the equipment, etc., that was stolen. Sorry If I took your reply out of contex!.

Wayne just called me on the landline and he informed me that the first 5 seats are completed and they will be shipped the first thing tomorrow morning.

He also cleared up the misconception that his tools have been returned by law enforcement. Not so. He has borrowed several hand and power tools, from friends and family, to complete the project. However, law enforcement officials were able to be convinced to give back a roll of the material necessary to cover the seats, but that is all.

It is so sad to witness a family trying to make good on their word when they have suffered so much misfortune from actions that were not of their doing.

Give 'em hell Wayne and come on back to the Forum. We miss your comments and expertise on many items with which you are so familiar.

Wow!!! Got my seat today and it's a beaut. Comfy, Comfy. Bigger than I thought but it covers my entire empennage assembly when sitting. Good looking too.

Thanks to everyone, now I can throw the whoopee cushion in the trash. Had a lot of "monkey grip" patches on it.

I'm surprised that the police haven't returned the "goods" yet. Often we simply photograph the items stolen for court purposes and return the property to it's rightful owner. That meets the court requirements in the states. Have them check with the prosecuting attorney and see if that would suffice vs. waiting for a court trial. I'm most certain they would understnd the hardship placed on a business owner/proprieter

I talked to Wayne last night. He has received all of his stolen equipment back from the police. The next set of seats should be going out in the next couple of days. Hang in there, they are coming.
