iTunes has a live recording from a radio show, Gram Parsons and The Fallen Angles: Live 1973, featuring Neil Flanz. The audio quality is very good and Neil's performance is outstanding. You can audition the tracks in iTunes.

| Great playing by Neil. He carried that band. Really nice tone from (I think) a finger-tip Sho-Bud and a very early (possibly prototype) Peavey Session 400. Bravo Neil! |

| Great sound no matter what it was....that's for sure Marty. I just ran this by Neil. He says: "I believe that at the time my guitar was simply called a "Professional" even though it had aluminum necks. The amp was a Sho-Bud which was solid state and built for Sho-Bud by Kenneth Cain from San Antonio." |

I have that album of the Fallen Angels.
Bought it at an Oldies record store in the Boston area in the late 70's.
Neil's playing sure did make the album what it is.
Come to think of it I bought several of Lloyd's early out of print albums there as well.

I'm not aware of what's on the Gram Parsons CDs.
All the albums I have are the originals from the early 70's.
This album was recorded for Radio station WLIR-FM in NY on March 13,1973.
It has Emmylou Harris singing harmony vocals on songs as Love Hurts in which I asked Neil his chords used in the song and he sent the chart to me.

Gram played 5 nights at Oliver's in Boston on the 1973 tour...my band took the week off and we went all of the nights...met and hung with Neil...it was quite the week...I remember Neil had two Electro Harmonix LPB-1 units chained together for his fuzz sound--someone made a custom switch that turned them both on at the same time...it was a heady week...Jock Bartley was the guitarist...after I moved to Colorado in 76 we got to know each other and ave worked together a lot over the years...

| I remember talking to Neil about that gig when we played together at the Den in Nashville (along with all the other guys in town). He said that was one of the highlights of his career. After listening to the album, I agree. |

I checked my album and that is the date on it.
I had a memory lapse.
