If you're talking about the allen tuning screw, you can put a bit of loctite on the threads or the early p/p's came with a light spring.
In my case, I am the one with the screw loose and haven't found a cure, as of yet. ![Whoa!](images/smiles/icon_omg.gif)

I've had good results cutting a spring to fit, but has anyone ever tried wrapping some teflon (plumber's) tape on the screw threads? |

You can use a spring from a ball point pen and just cut it a little longer than the distance from the finger to the head of the screw - say approx. 1/4" - and just pull the screw out, slip on the spring and reinstall the screw. If you are like me you might even borrow a pen from a waitress (make sure she likes you first) and then get by with the same spring for many years. |

Locktite works fine, just don't use the strong formula. I have used a "milder" form of it and it's been pretty good. New allen screws usually help too. I've even taken the allen screws out and stuck a length of string on the screw lengthwise and wiggled them back in as a temporary measure to get through a gig. |
