My dad received this from his mom back in Niagra when he was very young. Story goes back then it was hard times around the time of the Big war and they had to take in a boarder. His mom ended up buying this from the gentleman and gifted it to my father. He recently passed it along to me because of my interest in steel guitar. My dad Vernon Cummings is the mandolin picker for The Texas Trail Blazers a group which began in the 40's.
I'm curious just how old it could be.

Most likely from late Thirties, 1936-40 or so. Appears to be Kay's "Hawaiian Standard" model, which is in the catalog at the time, and sold for $75.

Here's Michael Lee Allen's post with pages for Kay, Harmony and other "catalog" lap steels.

Thanks for the input folks.
Anyone out there have one of these and care to share their opinions of the instrument and/or amplifier.
It's great to have a place to go where there are so many who have experienced so much and are gracious and kind enough to assist those of us who are also travelling the steel guitar highway. Best wishes to all of you.

Merry Christmas ya'll.
