Robert and Melba Mc Gee were long time Country music permoters. They had a small home on there property that they had Country music at every friday might and Blugrass on Saturday nights. It was kind of small so they ran 50/50s and everyone including myself would win and give the money back to them so they could add onto the building and they made a nice Music hall out of it and Anna and I use to go there every Friday night and Dance to the great Country Music they Played with a band. Well the real Sad news we got Friday knocked us off our feet. Robert was 81 and Melba was 79. Thet were hit head on buy a Utility Truck which crossed over the center line on Route 210 in Benson North Carolina and hit them head on and killed both of them Instantly. What a great loss to the people that use to go and listen to their counrty music.I Ran a couple of Steel Guitar Jams there also.God Bless Robert and Melba and their family's which we know all of them.Lord be with them.

Sam, that is so sad. Very tragic. Words are not adequate to express my sorrow to their family and friends for their loss. _________________ GFI Ultra SD-10; Nashville 112; Hilton pedal, George L Cables; Pearse bar; Live Stings;Walker seat by Billy Knowles. |

Sam, thanks for posting this, I knew this family well as I played steel at his music hall (Beaver Creek) for the last four years every Friday night. Many memories, he had two or three thick books of songs and would pick them as we went along. I did most of the intro's, he would look at me, give me a song title. Sometimes he would call out one I had not heard of so unless he gave me a tip I would say you better start this one cold. We knew his health was failing, at times he would call up several guest and just go sit for a while. That music hall, his family and the people who came were his life and purpose, at times he would take a wireless mike an go out among the guest and sing, So afraid of losing you again was a favorite, it is tragic that he and wife went the way they did. _________________ Ray Thomas
