Thank You to everyone that had advice and suggestions for cold weather playing. It was 27 with a 11-14 mph wind (according to NOAA) when we started. The space heaters helped just a little.

The job went very well. I did get the Carter there early and I am very thankful that I followed Paul's advice and detuned the lighter gauge strings. I left the heavy strings tuned just to see how sharp they'd go (Way sharp). I most certainly would have broke the 3rd string if I didn't detune it. I retuned after 1 hour and once again before we went on and the tuning held perfect for the rest of the set.

Other things that worked very well

I took a small heater for under my seat and used a sheet of plywood with a rubber back carpet to get off the concrete.
I wore a ton of clothes. I took three bars and played with one while the other two were in my down vest pockets with two Grabber brand hand warmers. I never used the bar in the right pocket cause between songs that bar was quite warm and I could hold it to get my hand functioning again. That was an outstanding idea Bobby.

It was very hard and the longer the song the harder it was to play. But thanks to you guys it really went very well. I now respect and understand why some advice was to stay home. There was pain involved.

I had to substitute Peppermint Schnapps in hot tea for brandy. Very Happy
